About Art Shenk - Facilitator
Art has been playing pickleball since Nov 2017. In his senior year, he and his partner were runner up in the PIAA Hard Court and Clay Court Tennis Doubles Championships in the early 70's. He went on to play one year at Penn State when a knee injury prevented him from continuing his collegiate athletic career. He has continued since though to have enjoyment of racket sports including pickleball now as a regular part of his fitness activity.
He finds Pickleball a unique sport that uses very basic racket skills that are easy to learn often adapted from a variety of racket sports previously played including table tennis, racketball, badmitten and / or tennis.
He enjoys playing this active, low physical impact game of skill and strategy. And finds that it can be played at all levels competitively while being a wonderful way to make new friends.
Art is committed to facilitating growth of this fastest growing game in America with a focus on the developing the love for the sport in Gaithersburg Maryland.
